Longford Marathon
Making a welcome return on Sunday, the Abbott Longford Marathon again attracted a good entry with participants travelling from far and wide. Many club members also lined up taking in distances ranging from 5k to the Marathon and well done to all.

Colin Beades and John Scott both recorded top-10 finishes over the 26.2 miles with 2:56 with Colin first local man home and sixth overall. Anne Brady paced it well for 3:42 to be the seventh place lady and first Longford runner. Barry Sheil and Paddy Sharkey made the podium in the half marathon with Barry first in 1:11 and Paddy third with 1:13. In the 5k, Ben Quinn took the win in 17:55 just ahead of Ross Gannon in a close finish. Another superb run by young Rian McCaffrey for fourth place in 18:08.
