Juveniles in Action
Best of luck to our juvenile athletes running at the All-Ireland Cross Country Championships for the uneven age groups this Sunday. The club has 3 individual qualifiers and 3 teams qualified among the hundreds descending on Conna in county Cork. A number of club members, including some that will be in Cork, will also be in action at the Track and Field Live indoor event in Athlone on Thursday. No off-season in athletics!

Results
Down south last weekend was John Scott who ran in a wet and windy Clonakilty half marathon finishing in the top ten. The bad weather in west Cork resulted in the closure of some roads leaving just the half distance available instead of the full. In Clontarf, Charlie Barone also took on 13.1 miles while Tara Gately and Caroline McDermott completed the 5 mile run as the blustery conditions didn’t prevent all from running good times. Emma Brennan (Moyne CS) last week won gold at the All-Ireland Community Schools cross country in Dublin with victory in the second years race.

AGM
The Annual General Meeting of Longford Athletics Club will take place on Sunday December 11 at 5.30pm in the indoor centre. This is a change to the originally scheduled date. All adult members and parents of juvenile members are welcome. Come along and hear of all that has been achieved by the club and its members in 2022. We also encourage new members to join us on the committee as new ideas, skills and interests are always welcome. We extend this invite for nominations of positions on the committee and such nominations are to be sent to longfordac@gmail.com before December 9.

Church Gate Collection
Many thanks to all that supported our collection at the weekend and thanks also to those that collected.

Ardagh Road Races
