Weekly Notes – 25th April 2022

Primary Schools Relays
The Co. Longford Primary Schools Relays take place on Friday 29 April at Clonguish GAA, Allen Park, Newtownforbes. Races are 4 x 200m for children in second class and older. The first race is off at 6.30pm with registration opening at 5.45pm. Schools are to have their relay teams selected in advance of the evening. There will be subs races for children not on a team as well as relay races for schools with 3 or less teachers. Information and the registration sheet have been sent to the schools and are on our website.

Royal Canal Run
Making a welcome return after 4 years, the Royal Canal Run saw big numbers across the different distances on Saturday last with many club members among the large entry. Fiona Gettings and Barry Sheil claimed first place finishes in the 10k and Edel Mooney took the win in the half marathon in 1:28. Seamus Murtagh and Adrian Wrobel covered the most ground when completing the marathon distance in good times. Well done to the race organisers on a very enjoyable event.

Friday Athletics
Weekly Juvenile and Little Athletics at the Mall resumes on 6 May.

Sympathy
The club extends its sympathies to the Carberry and Murphy families on the sad passing of Robin, Kenagh. May he Rest in Peace.
