Ray Flynn Mile
The mile begins at 7pm on Wednesday evening, 21 September, at St. Mel’s College. Registration opens at 5.45pm at the Longford indoor athletics centre on the College grounds.

Schools Cross Country
The Schools Cross Country takes place this Sunday 25 September. Moyne Community School hosts the event with the first of four races for Co. Longford Primary Schools starting at 5pm. These will be followed by Post-Primary School races open to schools in or outside Longford. More information on www.longfordac.com

Royal Canal Camino
The Royal Canal Camino Walk takes place on Saturday October 1. The 36-kilometre route commences at Abbeyshrule finishing beside St. Mel’s Cathedral. Coach transfer before the walk will bring participants from the event HQ at St. Mel’s College to the starting point. The walk is a fundraiser for the completion of our new indoor athletics centre at the College. Full details at www.royalcanalcamino.ie

Results
Another good performance over 26.2 miles by John Scott for a third place finish at the Medieval Marathon in Kilkenny on Saturday clocking 2:55. It was the half marathon distance for Charlie Barone on Saturday at the Dublin Half. Charlie paced it well for a sub-2 hour run in the Phoenix Park.
