International Selection for Fiona Gettings
Congratulations to Fiona Gettings who has achieved international selection following her strong run at the Autumn Open cross-country in Dublin on Sunday. Fiona placed third in her age category in the 6000m womens race in Abbotstown. This ensured her place with only the top-3 finishers guaranteed to qualify to wear the Irish singlet as part of the F40 team for next month’s British & Irish Masters Championships to be held in Santry.

It was 140.6 miles for Enda Coffey and Sean Crossan on Saturday who both completed the Ironman Cascais in Portugal. Well done to both whose months of dedicated training paid off with good performances in the swim, bike and run.

Cross Country
The club hosts the Connacht Primary Schools cross-country championships and Connacht senior league this Saturday at Moyne CS with the first race at 12 noon. A busy couple of hours of racing ahead with over 700 entrants from across the western region. Good luck to the 105 athletes from County Longford taking part.
