Cross Country: There were plenty of excellent performances by the girls and boys from across the county that took part at the Connacht Primary Schools races in County Sligo last Saturday. Melview’s John Fitzpatrick ran strongly to win bronze in the 3rd / 4th class boys 1000m. Scoil Mhuire Newtownforbes, led by Sophia Carey in fourth place, finished second in the team standings of the 5th / 6th class girls 1200m. Alisha Manning, Darcey Brady, Isobel Gacquin and Cara Dorr all placed well to ensure the team silver medals. Good luck to our 23 juvenile and 4 senior athletes competing in Ballina this Sunday.
Mid Term: There will be no Juvenile and Little Athletics this week. Athletics resumes on 5 November.
