Little Athletics & Juvenile Athletics: We will have our final session before the Christmas break this Friday December 20th from 7pm in the Mall. The first evening back in the New Year will be the registration evening on January 10th. The first session of 2020 for both Little and Juvenile Athletics will be Friday January 17th. All registration fees for the year ahead must be paid for to participate in the sessions.

Senior Members: The registration evening for senior members also takes place on January 10th. An application form must be completed in advance of registering by existing senior members and those interested in joining as senior members. The link has already been made available in the club members WhatsApp group and can also be below. All new or existing members who wish to avail of the ‘Good for Age’ entry at the 2020 Dublin Marathon must be registered and have their monies paid to either Michael O’Hara or Colman Reilly by 1st January. The senior members registration fee for the year remains at €30.

New Members: 2020 promises to be an exciting year for Longford Athletics Club. The performances of our junior and senior athletes in recent times on a national and international scale shows the great athletic talent within the county. We are always looking for new members and now is a great time to consider joining the club. Avail of top class coaching, have fun and benefit from training in a group environment. Come along to our registration evening on January 10th for more information.

Fundraiser Raffle: Thank you to all who supported our fundraiser draw in recent days at both the Longford Arms Hotel and the Shopping Centre. We will have our stand again at the Shopping Centre on Wednesday December 18th. We will continue our efforts to raise funds for our proposed indoor athletic facility at events over the festive period. Our raffle tickets make great Christmas presents for family, friends or staff plus you are helping fund a great local cause. Be in with a chance to win the €20,000 first prize! Thank you to all individuals and businesses who have purchased tickets to date. The draw will take place in the New Year. Tickets are available from club members and can be purchased on our website www.longfordac.com. Also, many thanks to all who gave up their time to sell tickets at the stand over the past week and thanks also to the Longford Arms and Longford Shopping Centre.

Upcoming Road Races: December 25th – MS Christmas Day Run (Newtowncashel to Lanesborough) at 12.15pm. December 26th – Shane Brennan 5k, Newtownforbes at 1pm. December 28th – Ardagh 10 mile and 5k at 1pm.
