Thomas Mc Gann Connaught Schools Champion

Congratulations and well done to Thomas McGann representing Ballymahon Vocational School who won the Junior Boys 100 meters at the Connaught Schools Track and Field Championships held in Athlone on Wednesday 16^th May in Athlone.  Thomas won the race in 11.74 seconds and was well clear of the second place athlete.  This was a super fast time by Thomas and sets him in good stead to compete at the highest level in the All Ireland Schools which are scheduled to be held in Tullamore on Saturday 01^st June. Moyne Community had a good number of athletes competing in these finals, Ryan Forde won the Junior Boys Discus, Aedin Minnagh won bronze in the senior girls 200 meters and Ciara Keogh won the bronze medals in the senior girls 800 meters.  This shows the level of talent there is in the north Longford School.  We wish them the best of luck in these finals.  Finally the Irish Schools Athletics finals is probably one of the highlights in the athletics calendar and we would encourage you to go to these finals.
