The staging of the annual Royal Canal Run took place last Saturday under blue skies along our local 5.2km canal loop. Club members were out in force at the popular event which saw over 650 finishers in total across the different distances.
Patryk Prusak, Sinead Nolan, Edel Nolan, Michael O’Hara, Caitriona Moore, Jacqueline Mahon, Philip Bannister, Teresa Blake, Thelma Garvey, Sandra Donaldson, Carmel Corr, Eleanor McLoughlin, Carol O’Brien, Marian Dennigan, and Patricia Hughes all completed the 10km. There were several achieving personal bests and top ten finishes.
We also had a strong club turnout in the half marathon with Adrian Wrobel, Anne Brady, Barry Hall, Seamus Murtagh, Stephen McDermott, Paul Newell, and Colm Dooner with Barry achieving a new personal best.
In the full marathon, Enda Farrell secured a top five finish while John Farrell also covered the distance in a good time. Many thanks to Brendan and Madeline Doyle and their team on a very well organised and enjoyable event.
