There was local road race action on Sunday last with the Killoe Emmet Og 5k and 10k.

Rian McCaffrey was back racing and took the honours in the 5k followed soon by Patryk Prusak and Adrian Wrobel for a club 1-2-3. Julie Taitt claimed first in her age category, while Edel Nolan finished among the top 5 females. Jacqueline Mahon, Thelma Garvey, Marian Dennigan and Marissa Hebron each ran well with Marian achieving a new personal best.

In the 10k, John Scott took the win ahead of Colin Beades. Anne McDermott was first lady home with Sinéad Nolan soon in after for second place. Enda Coffey, Seamus Murtagh, Michael O’Hara and Mervyn Graham also ran well for the distance.

In Meath, the Bohermeen Half Marathon on the same day attracted a large entry. Barry Sheil crossed the line in 1:10 for an age category win while Enda Farrell clocked 1:27.

John Farrell completed the most distance over the weekend when running the marathon at the MCI event in Lilliput, outside Mullingar, on Saturday.
