A number of club members, including many that were in action in Galway, took part in last Sunday’s Community Games county finals in Ballymahon with plenty of exciting racing on show. Well done to all and congratulations to the qualifiers for August’s regional and national finals.
Week one of the Midlands Aquathon Series, hosted by Longford Triathlon Club, kicked off last Wednesday evening in Tarmonbarry. Sinéad Nolan, Ciaran Madden, Enda Coffey, Seamus Murtagh, Jacqueline Mahon and John Farrell all delivered excellent performances.
There were many good times clocked at the Newtowncashel 5k and 10k on Thursday. Seamus, Jacqueline and John, fresh from their exploits the previous evening, were joined by Michael O’Hara and Mervyn Graham in the 10k. Alexander Graham and Julie Taitt placed first in their age category in the 5k with Edel Nolan the third lady across the line. There were strong runs too by Sarah Taitt and Eleanor McLoughlin.
