Fiona Gettings achieved another personal best when clocking 4:36 for the 1500m last Wednesday evening. A strong run by Fiona who placed second in a closely contested women’s race at the Dublin Graded Meet in Santry.
At Saturday’s Roscommon 10 mile road race, Barry Sheil finished fourth overall in 53:41 with there being good runs also from John Scott, Anne Brady and John Farrell. Sunday morning saw Adrian Wrobel cross the finish line in second place at the Belvedere 5k near Mullingar with Anne Newman completing the distance in a good time too.
The Midlands Aquathon series continued last Wednesday near Athlone with Seamus Murtagh, Edel Nolan, Jacqueline Mahon, John Farrell, Sinéad Nolan, Séan Crossan and Michael O’Hara all in action. Jacqueline followed it up on Sunday then with the swim-bike-run Liquid Motion triathlon event in Ballina.
