Congratulations to Anne Brady on a fantastic run and brilliant personal best time at the Limerick Marathon. Those early morning training runs around Killoe over the months paid off with a strong performance crossing the finish line in 3:27 and a top-ten age category placing. Enjoy the celebrations Anne!
The unstoppable John Scott was back in marathon action taking in the 42.2km distance at the Belfast Marathon. One week on from London, John was well under 3 hours once again with a very impressive 2:52 and another marathon notched off as he continues his ‘12 in 2023’ crusade. Great stuff John.

At the other end of the island, Juraj Karcak was in Co. Kerry for the Waterville Trailrunning Festival (WTF). Taking in almost 4000m of elevation following Saturday’s 7am start, Juraj placed in joint third completing the 130km distance in a little over 16 hours. That was followed by another test of mental strength with an overnight drive back to Longford! Unreal!

Sinead Nolan has been setting good times during April at the Roscommon 5k series and achieved another good clocking on Friday at the final evening of the four. Martin Monaghan also put in a fine performance and has shown excellent progress over the series.

The now infamous recent National ‘10k’ Championship threw up one final surprise in the confirmed results with an unexpected, but welcome, bronze medal placing for our M35+ trio of Paddy Sharkey, Adrian Wrobel and Barry Sheil. Paddy also won individual gold in his age category whilst Barry, along with Fiona Gettings, received silver medals for second place in their respective age category.
