Longford Athletics Club will hold the Primary Schools Relays on Friday, 21st April at Clonguish GAA, Allen Park, Newtownforbes.
Races are open to all Primary Schools in County Longford for 2nd – 6th classes only. Four races will be solely for schools with smaller total pupil numbers (i.e., schools with 81 or less pupils) in which two classes can combine to comprise a team.
- Each team must consist of 4 runners and can have up to 3 subs
- A school can enter a maximum of two teams for each relay race
- A child may move up one class to complete a team
- Entrants are only permitted on one team and can only run one leg of a relay
- Subs races allow all entrants the opportunity to take part on the evening
- All participants must wear footwear during the race
- Participants do not need to be members of Longford AC
– Registration opens: 5.45pm
– First race: 6.30pm
– Race entry: €2 per child
One representative (teacher or parent) from each school is requested to bring the completed registration sheet(s) and have money collected in advance to hand in at the registration desk.
Medals will be presented to the first three teams in each relay and the three finishers in each subs race. The Ray Flynn Trophy will be presented to the best performing school.
