At the first day of this summer’s National finals in Tullamore last Sunday, Vilte Krasikova lined up in the opening race of the day winning her heat of the girls Under-12 60m with a superb 8.65 seconds personal best. She followed it up later in the morning producing another excellent run to place second in the final claiming silver for her first national medal won in club competition. Congratulations to Vilte on a fantastic achievement.

Joe Rooney advanced to the final of the boys U12 60m having placed second in his heat with a brilliant run. He lined up later in a very competitive decider and ran strongly to cross the line for seventh place in a close race with an 8.77 seconds personal best. Bryan Mulleady and Caedan Geoghegan took to the start line in the boys U9 60m pairs. Bryan was third in his heat while Caedan ran a new personal best for fourth in his race as the duo combined for fifth place in the team standings.

A good experience of competition for all four with each having done so well already in qualifying from the regionals. Good luck to our 15 athletes competing in Tullamore this coming weekend as the U13 to U19 National finals commence.
