Longford AC Juvenile Awards Night 2013: The night began with a review of the year’s events in photographs and medals. A HUGE thank you was extended to Juvenile Coaches Ray Doyle, Tracey O’Connor, Breda Corcoran & Sinead Killian, and Little Athletics Coaches Sinead Phelan & Caitriona Hayden, for the time and enthusiasm they have given to training and encouraging the young athletes who went on to achieve so much during the year. 2013 was an outstanding year for LAC Juveniles! Achievement Awards were presented to juvenile athletes who competed at both Connacht and National levels in Cross Country, Indoor & Outdoor Relay and Track & Field. Girls Achievement Award Winners: Sarah Murphy,  Aideen Mulligan, Sarah McPhillips, Funmi Talabi, Claragh Shannon & Avril Cosgrove. Boys Achievement Award Winners: Niall Nerney, Thomas McGann, Cian McPhillips, Daire McManus, Brendan Finnan & Cathal Farrell. Club Girls of the Year: Dearbhaile Rooney, Niamh Brady, Hanna Downey. Club Boys of the Year: Adam Shields, James Galligan. We are already anticipating all the excitement and accomplishments that our Juvenile athletes will achieve in 2014!

Sarah Murphy  (Dromard) – recognised for her achievements in Cross Country in 2013 season:

1st place County Longford Schools Cross Country, 7th place Connacht Schools Cross Country both held in Moyne, Co. Longford.

2nd place U12 Girls Connacht Cross Country in Calry, Sligo and 5th place U13 Girls Connacht, Roscommon with a fantastic National result of 13th place as individual U12 girl & 3rd place as part of Connacht team in AAI National Cross Country Championships in Santry November 2013.

Dearbhaile Rooney (Longford) – recognised for her enthusiasm & dedication in training and competition throughout the last year.
