John Finnan wins gold at National Juvenile Development Track & Field

The National Juvenile Development Track & Field Championships were held on Sunday 11^th August in Tullamore with some excellent competition on the day. Athletes travelled from all over Ireland for this final National Track and Field competition. John Finnan won the Under 16 Boys Shot Putt with a consistent series of three throws of 7.89, 8.09 and 7.96 meters to win the title and is just reward for all the hard work he has put in over the past 12 months, no doubt John is looking forward to the break.  Dearbhaile Rooney ran an excellent race in the under 13 girls 600 meters final and continues to improve; no doubt Dearbhaile is looking forward to the upcoming cross country season.  New club member Thomas Whyte had a good run in the boys under 15 800 meters final and he will certainly improve with more races.  Well done to all three athletes on your achievements in this competition.
