A super day was had on Sunday last at the first ever Connacht Indoors for the Under 9 – 11 age groups in Athlone. 40 of our young athletes took part and all did great. There were sprints, longer distance events, relays and long jump. Lots of fun for all and a great experience of competition. Well done to:

It was a brilliant day for Hannah who excelled. She leaped the furthest for gold in the U10 long jump with 3.48m and claimed silver in the 60m. Hannah also teamed up with Adam, Isabelle Madden and Cillian Murphy for gold in the mixed 4 x 200m relay with each setting a lightning quick pace on the Athlone track

The relays provided great entertainment and saw further success when Louis, Caeden, Jonah and Bryan joined forces to deliver the gold in the U9 4 x 200m with a fantastic team run. Our U11 mixed 4 x 200m relay quartet of Emily, Ted, Ashlee and Jayden brought home silver medals following their excellent performances in one of the last races of the day. Emily also won a silver medal in the U11 60m clocking a speedy 9.29 seconds.
