U16 Boys Relay Team

All-Ireland Silver medallists Keelin McGann, Brendan Finnan (sub), Killian Rawle, Cian McPhillips & Christopher Conaty stand on the track at AIT after their excellent performance at the Athletics Ireland National Indoor Relay Championships on March 25th. The Longford Athletic Club U16 Boys 4X200m Relay Team finished second in their heat and shaved off 3.5 seconds from their Provincial qualifying time to take the set of Silver medals.

Longford AC U13 Girls 4X100m Relay Team – 4th place All-Ireland finish

Longford Athletic Club U13 Girls 4X100m Relay Team were all smiles as they finished 4th place at the Irish Life Health National Indoor Relay Championships at AIT last weekend. Siog Reilly, Kaela Brady, Funmi Talabi and Laura Farrell finished 2nd in their heat with a new pb of 56.68 seconds to qualify for the final race of 6 teams.

Longford Athletic Club U16 Boys 4X200m Relay Team shaved off 3.5 seconds from their Provincial qualifying time to take Silver at the Irish Life Health National Indoor Relay Championships at AIT on March 25th. After their second place finish in the heats Killian Rawle, Keelin McGann, Cian McPhillips and Christopher Conaty (sub Brendan Finnan) looked very competitive for the final and did not disappoint with their time of 1.39.09. They share the podium with Leevale AC (Cork) 1st place and Ratoath AC (Meath) 3rd Place.

Longford AC U16/U17 Girls  Yemi Talabi & Gospel Idahor enjoying the action over the 3 Days of the National Indoor Championships at Athlone IT Indoor Arena, March 2017, where they competed in Relay, 60m sprints, 200m and long jump events.

Olufunmilayo Talabi winning All-Ireland Silver in the U13 Girls 60m sprint in the time of 8.21 seconds at the National Indoor Championships at AIT on 26th March 2017.

U15 Boys 4X200m Relay Team

U15 Boys 4X200m Relay Team: Daniel Hayden, Aidan O’Boyle, Paul Idahor and Cathal Farrell, performed well at the recent Connacht Indoor Track & Field Championships in Athlone IT.

Longford AC photos Day 2 Connacht winners

The tone of the day was set from the very first race when Longford AC U18 Boys 4X200m relay team shot off the line at blistering pace to win by nearly a 5 second margin. Aaron Kelly, Dylan Horkan, Corey Molloy and Ronan Farrell (sub Nelvin Appiah) brought all the Longford spectators to their feet with their time of 1:39.49 min, qualifying them for the National Juvenile Relay at the end of the month. This is their second year running together as a team going on to Nationals. Last year they progressed well from the heats to the reach the ultimate final 6 teams.

Longford AC Connacht Relay Winners

Longford AC U16 Boys Cian McPhillips, Keelin McGann, Killian Rawle and Christopher Conaty made the running look easy as they took Gold in the 4X200m relay in 1:42.61 min at Athlone IT Indoor Arena on 26th February at the Connacht Indoor Track & Field Championships.  This victory sees the team qualify for further action at the end of the month as they get the chance to perform at All-Ireland level.

Longford AC Connacht Winners

Sarah McPhillips, Avril Cosgrove, Melissa O’Kane, Funmi Talabi, brought home to Longford the set of Gold medals in the U14 Girls 4X200m relay at last weekend’s Connacht Indoor Track & Field Championships at Athlone IT. Their time of 1:57.79 min was a full 5 seconds ahead of 2nd place and has assured their progress on to the National Juvenile Relays at the end of the month.
