The All-Ireland Schools Track and Field championships took place in Tullamore at the weekend with strong performances by a number of our club athletes in the hot conditions.
Emma Brennan’s fifth place in a high quality junior girls 1500m was the highlight with Emma clocking a personal best 4:48.
Excellent runs also by Rachel Keenan, Oisín Dillon and Max Gallagher in the middle-distance events, Mia Kiernan in the 75m hurdles while Conor Meadows performed well in the shot put.
Congratulations to Mercy Ballymahon student Aisling Lane, a member of Mullingar Harriers, who won gold in the senior girls 3km walk.
