Emma Brennan, of Moyne Community School, had a superb run on Saturday in the inter girls 3500m at the All-Ireland Schools Cross Country in Galway. In a high-quality race, Emma showed her strength to cross the finish line in tenth position. This earned Emma one of the much sought-after places onto the Irish inter girls team at the upcoming Schools International in Scotland.
Another Moyne CS pupil, Orla Miney, had a fine run too in Galway in the inter girls race while Sophia Smith, also of Moyne CS, raced well in the minor girls 1500m at her first All-Ireland schools cross country.
Rian McCaffrey, of St. Mel’s College, ran a strong race also when placing high up in the inter boys 5000m of which he will be eligible for again next year.
