Longford Athletics Club will hold the 2025 Primary Schools Relays on Friday 2 May at St. Mel’s College.
Races are open to all County Longford schools for 2nd – 6th classes with the first race at 6.30pm.
Each relay is 4 x 200m beginning with 2nd class girls.
Subs races follow each relay, e.g. 2nd class girls 4 x 200m is followed by the 2nd class girls 200m subs race.
- For all relay teams, there must be 4 runners and a team can have up to 3 subs.
- A school can enter a maximum of two teams for each relay race.
- A child may move up one class to complete a team.
- Entrants are only permitted on one team and can only run one leg of a relay.
- Subs races allow every child the opportunity to take part on the evening.
- Races to take place on the main GAA pitch at St. Mel’s College.
- All participants must wear footwear during the race.
- Participants do not need to be members of Longford AC.
– Registration opens: 5.45pm
– First race: 6.30pm
– Race entry: €2 per child
Registration
One representative (teacher or parent) from each school is requested to bring the completed registration sheet(s) and have money collected in advance to hand in at the registration desk.
Medals will be presented to the first three teams in each relay and the three finishers in each subs race. The Ray Flynn Trophy will be presented to the best performing school in the relay events.
It promises to be a fun evening of races!
Car Parking
There will be limited car parking available on the grounds of St. Mel’s College. Access only using the main College Avenue entrance (Cathedral side).
Please follow the direction of stewards. Additional parking available at the Mall, Tesco, Cathedral Car Park.
