As posted on Facebook by Offaly Athletics: With glorious weather and perfect conditions for running and competing, the annual Midlands 4 Counties Track and Field event provided some super competition this evening. Juveniles, their families and coaches travelled from the counties of Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath to participate in this ever popular meet.

This is Longford AC’s 7th year to take part in the Midlands Counties competition. Well done to the 37 Juveniles in U9-14 age groups that travelled to Tullamore and took part in all the events on offer. A total of 31 medals were won by Longford AC (12 Gold, 10 Silver, 9 Bronze).

The breakdown is as follows: Long Jump =7 medals, Turbo Javelin = 5 medals, Shot Putt = 3 medals
Sprints = 7 medals, Middle Distance = 9 medals
